ITC Conference Grants

What are ITC Conference Grants?

ITC Conference Grants provide financial support for PhD students and Early Career Investigators (ECIs) from Inclusiveness Target Countries (ITCs) to present their work at international scientific conferences. These grants are designed to enhance the visibility of ITC participants, strengthen their career development, and foster their integration into the wider research community.

*The ITCs include Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Martinique, Mayotte, Réunion Island, Saint Martin, Azores, Madeira, Canary Islands, Albania, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Türkiye, and Ukraine.

Objectives

• Increase the participation and recognition of researchers from ITCs.

• Provide opportunities for PhD students and ECIs to present their research at high-level scientific conferences.

• Promote the visibility of the Action within the international research community.

Who Can Apply?

• PhD students and Early Career Investigators (up to 8 years after PhD) affiliated with an institution in an Inclusiveness Target Country.

• Applicants must be engaged in the activities of the COST Action.

Eligible Activities

• Presentation of an oral or poster contribution at an international scientific conference.

• The applicant must be the first author of the accepted contribution.

• The COST Action must be acknowledged in the presentation.

Financial Support

• Contribution to travel, registration, accommodation, and subsistence costs.

• Maximum grant: EUR 2,000 per conference.

• For conferences held outside Europe: up to EUR 3,000.

• Please note: this is a contribution, not a full reimbursement of costs.

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted through the e-COST platform and should include:

1. A completed application form.

2. The conference programme or the abstract acceptance letter.

3. A short CV of the applicant.

4. A justification of how the conference participation will contribute to the Action objectives.

Applications are evaluated by the Management Committee (MC) of the Action.

After the Conference

• The grantee must submit a scientific report within 30 days of the event.

• The report should summarise the presentation delivered, networking outcomes, and benefits to the Action.

• Payment is made after approval of the report by the Management Committee.
