What are Virtual Mobility Grants?
• Grants that support researchers and innovators to collaborate virtually in the context of a COST Action.
• They promote the use of digital tools and online collaboration methods to strengthen networks and achieve Action objectives.
Who can apply?
• Any Action Participant (including PhD students, postdocs, and senior researchers).
• Applicants must be affiliated with an institution in a COST Country or Near Neighbour Country (NNC).
Purpose and Activities
• Develop virtual collaboration activities such as:
o Sharing and harmonising research methods.
o Coordination of data collection and analysis.
o Virtual mentoring and training.
o Joint preparation of protocols, publications, or funding proposals.
• Activities must directly contribute to the objectives of the Action.
Duration
• Flexible, depending on the activity (short or extended periods of virtual collaboration).
Funding
• Each Virtual Mobility Grant can provide up to EUR 1,500.
• The amount is a contribution to costs related to setting up and managing virtual collaboration (not a salary).
Application procedure
• Applications must be submitted through the e-COST platform.
• The application should include:
o A description of the planned virtual collaboration.
o Expected outcomes and benefits for the Action.
o CV of the applicant.
• Proposals are evaluated by the Management Committee (MC) of the Action.
After the Grant
• The grantee must submit a report within 30 days after the end of the virtual collaboration.
• The report must summarise activities carried out, main outcomes, and impact on the Action.
• Payment is made after approval by the MC.
