Development and evaluation of novel diagnostic methods

WORKGROUP OBJECTIVES

  1. To characterize the responses of IgM and IgG anti-Pneumocystis antibodies profiles in different study populations.
  2. Review and evaluate Pneumocystis detection tests and providing a consensus method for P. jirovecii qPCR.
  3. Develop and validate a new biosensor based on plasmonic nanoparticles as thermal transducers for point-of-care Pneumocystis diagnosis.
  4. To organize meetings, STSM and/or training schools to address the state of the art, advantages, and pitfalls of diagnostic methods for Pneumocystis infection.
