The Delve-into-Pneumocystis COST Action (CA23142) is pleased to announce a new Training School focused on evidence synthesis, meta-analysis, and emerging AI-supported methodologies for Pneumocystis research. The course will take place in Seville (Spain) on 22–23 June 2026 in a hybrid format, with funding available for eligible participants according to COST rules. Application deadline: 15 June 2026.

The Delve-into-Pneumocystis COST Action (CA23142) is delighted to announce the upcoming Training School:
Evidence Synthesis, Meta-analysis, and Emerging AI-Supported Methodologies for Pneumocystis Research
This Training School will take place on 22–23 June 2026 at the IBiS Ground Floor Classroom, Seville (Spain) and will be delivered in a hybrid format, allowing both in-person and online participation.
The training will be delivered by Dr Antonio Vallejo-Vaz and coordinated by Prof. Enrique Calderón, Chair of COST Action CA23142.
The aim of this Training School is to provide practical training in evidence synthesis methodologies applied to Pneumocystis research, including systematic reviews, meta-analysis, and emerging digital and AI-supported approaches for research.

Participants will gain practical insight into:
✔ Systematic and scoping reviews
✔ Meta-analysis methods and interpretation
✔ Emerging AI-supported methodologies for evidence synthesis
✔ Practical case studies in Pneumocystis research
✔ Methodological challenges and future collaborative opportunities
The programme also includes networking activities supported by COST Action CA23142, including:

Who can apply?
The Training School is open to:
- COST Action members
- PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, clinicians, and senior researchers
- External participants interested in Pneumocystis research, evidence synthesis, and meta-analysis
As part of COST’s principles of openness and inclusiveness, external applicants are welcome and may also participate if approved.
Priority may be given according to COST principles, including:
- Young Researchers and Innovators (YRIs)
- Participants from Inclusiveness Target Countries (ITCs)
- Applicants whose participation may contribute to the scientific objectives of the Action
Financial Support
Financial support may be available for eligible in-person participants travelling to Seville, according to COST rules, available budget, and Management Committee approval.
Eligible expenses may include:
- Travel costs
- Accommodation
- Daily allowance contributions
Please note that financial support is not automatic and depends on COST eligibility criteria and participant country status.
External applicants wishing to participate are encouraged to create an e-COST profile and apply through the official COST platform.
