Delve-into-Pneumocystis presented at the XVI Spanish National Congress of Mycology
COST Action CA23142 Delve-into-Pneumocystis was presented at the XVI Spanish National Congress of Mycology, held in Córdoba, Spain, from 7 to 9 September 2026. Through an oral presentation, the Action's objectives, activities, and collaborative network were introduced to the Spanish mycology community, highlighting its contribution to advancing knowledge, diagnosis, and control of Pneumocystis-related diseases.
COST Action CA23142 Delve-into-Pneumocystis participated in the XVI Spanish National Congress of Mycology, held at the University of Córdoba, Spain, from 7 to 9 September 2026.
During the congress, Prof. Enrique J. Calderón, Chair of the Action, delivered an oral presentation entitled “Delve-into-Pneumocystis (CA23142): una red europea COST para avanzar en el conocimiento, diagnóstico y control de las enfermedades humanas relacionadas con Pneumocystis”. The work was co-authored by members of the Action from Spain, Portugal, Mexico, and Poland.
The presentation provided an opportunity to introduce the objectives, structure, and ongoing activities of Delve-into-Pneumocystis to the mycology community, highlighting the importance of international collaboration in improving our understanding of Pneumocystis and the human diseases associated with this fungal pathogen.
Participation in the congress also contributed to the communication and dissemination activities of the Action, increasing the visibility of CA23142 and fostering scientific exchange and opportunities for future collaboration.
Through its participation in national and international scientific meetings, Delve-into-Pneumocystis continues to disseminate its scientific objectives and activities while strengthening connections among researchers and healthcare professionals working on Pneumocystis across Europe and beyond.
